Bringing the community into your local train station by planting with local recycled plastic to build a communal herb allotment. I have chosen to specifically focus on Tolworth’s train station in the suburds of London. Plantastic tackles both issues of plastic pollution and not everyone having access to have an allotment.
Plantastic is a plant holding device made from recycled plastic collected from local businesses and households in the Tolworth community. Commuters in train stations will be able to participate in contributing towards this community project, hassel and guilt free. Plantastic was designed to be non invasive to the existing structures.Commuters could participate by collecting HDPE plastic, planting herbs, watering or just to bring awareness about recycling plastic. Commuters can then take some herbs home as a reward. This project is currently being continued in Tolworth by The Farms of Futures.
